Love food, share local.

Our story: What motivates me "every" single day?

I believe in the interconnectedness of life with nature and the importance of our delicate, yet powerful ecosystem. I am happiest when I'm sharing produce from my home garden with friends, neighbors and our community. My simple idea for foodie neighbor explores many aspects of community, connection, and the power of sharing fresh ingredients to bring people together. - John Miller

What we do

Sharing food is for everybody

We simplify access to fresh, healthy produce by enabling home gardeners to share their extra harvest.

Cooking with my mom sparked a lifelong love of food and sharing it with others. It was my ten years in B2B tech that prepared me to pursue my true passion; connecting people through food sharing.

It's a joy to see how my love of food and a simple idea, like growing herbs and veggies in our garden with my kids during the pandemic, can grow into something bigger.

This simple idea started from

Inspired by this new path, I realized the potential for a larger impact. My passion for growing herbs led me to share my bounty with neighbors; from extra homegrown basil to my favorite Meyer lemons.

It was fun and is still fun today!

For the past year, I've been working with a dedicated team to develop a social app that empowers neighbors to share their garden harvests. We envision a future where local food systems are healthier, safer, and more sustainable, built on cooperative growing, shared experiences, and community resources.

We invite you to join us in building a more sustainable future, one garden at a time.

We are about interactions
not transactions

More about foodie neighbor

We are a hyper-local service focused on food sharing from home gardens and building collective community experiences.

Our goals:

  • Shared Harvest: Facilitate the exchange of fresh produce among gardeners and community members.
  • Local Produce Inventory: Create a comprehensive database of local herb, fruit and veggie varieties growing in home gardens.
  • Promote Local Produce Diversity: Encourage gardeners to grow a wider variety of herbs, fruits and vegetables, and provide resources for identifying and selecting lesser-known varieties.
  • Sustainability Encouraging the use of organic and sustainable gardening techniques.
  • Volunteer Network: Connect volunteers with neighbors in need of harvesting assistance.
  • Community Events Platform: Provide tools to organize local pop-up events, bringing together families, home cooks, gardeners, and schools.

I am dedicated to building technology that brings people together to interact and socialize “in-person,” help improve household food utilization and provide easier access to healthier foods locally.
